Robyn Britz, a multimedia designer based in Cape Town, is someone I’ve been following for years now. I’ve always been in awe of the incredible work she produces for the brand she’s co-founded, Zana, as well as her other creative pursuits. Her work has been a constant source of inspiration to me and I adore her style, particularly her use of colour and pattern.
Recently, she started a new brand, Moat, which was born through some lockdown experimentation. The range includes beautiful candles and vases in a range of lovely colours. The products are 3D printed, and they have such a unique and modern look. I also love the fact that the vases are so lovely and sturdy without being glass. Instead, they are made out of PLA, a vegetable-based plastic material. They still feel elegant and grown up, but minus the possibility of shattered glass all over my res room carpet. The vases also have little stackable bangles that go around the neck for some extra colour and texture. I think this is such a cool idea and you can change it up to suit your mood. The candles are lovely too. There are so many lovely, intricate designs in pretty colours. All in all, I’m in love with this new brand and can’t wait to see what the future brings for Moat.
Thanks Robyn for the lovely vase
