I’ve been a fan of Pauline Hagan’s work for many years now. Hagan is a designer and maker based in Prague and is the creator behind Benu Made, a jewellery brand. These exquisite pieces are mostly made out of leather and truly serve as wearable art.
Pauline’s latest project takes her beautiful work into a bigger space. Oscille is a collection of mobiles made out of brass. Each one has a unique composition and the gentle movement of the pieces gives them an ethereal quality as they catch the light. Inspired by a trip Pauline made to Japan, there is a beautiful simplicity to this collection. “Most items in the home are static, built from the ground up, and with Oscille I hope to introduce movement – like the feeling you might get from observing a curtain move with the breeze,” says Hagan.
I can just imagine lying in the living room in the haze of summer with a cool breeze blowing through the window and a mobile casting lovely shadows on my face as I take a nap or read a book.
